The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) commissioned us to develop visualizations documenting the progress of section 2 of the Maya Train. The objective was clear: to graphically represent the integration between the railway infrastructure and the electrical systems that power it, specifically the overhead lines and substations along the route. These were not generic illustrations, but precise representations that would allow those responsible for the project to evaluate the actual progress of the work.

Production design for a television campaign
The scope of the project extended beyond what was initially planned. We developed detailed representations of the CFE facilities and their connection to the train's overhead lines. We also visualized wildlife crossings, overpasses, connecting sections, and other critical infrastructure elements. Each deliverable accurately documented the progress of each section, enabling authorities to make informed decisions and communicate the results to the public without technical ambiguity.
The operational context imposed particular conditions. The train did not yet physically exist, but it was necessary to show the progress of the work in real time to a national audience. The visualizations had to be presented weekly during the President of the Republic's morning press conferences, broadcast live on national television. The Ministry of National Defense led these sessions, which meant that the materials had to meet high-level institutional communication standards. The audience was diverse: from technical authorities to the general public.
... The Results
The result was a set of visualizations that served two simultaneous purposes: to be rigorous for technical decision-making and clear for public communication. The infrastructure was represented before it physically existed, demonstrating that design can anticipate reality and facilitate its understanding.
